
AHEC Summer Programs for 9-11th Grade
AHEC of a Summer is a way for 9th-11th grade students to get a closer look into their local hospital for 3 weeks while earning high school credit. 105 community service hours and 2 year CPR certification provided.
M*A*S*H is a 14 day accelerated college course at BPCC where you can earn 3 college credit hours. Must be 11th/12th grade with a 3.0 GPA and 21 ACT score.
Deadline to apply for these programs is March 1st.
Students interested in applying for either of the AHEC programs can pick up an application from the counselors office or go to www.bnahec.com for more information.

**To be eligible to tryout, you must be a current Freshman, Sophomore or Junior who has spent a year on either Pep Squad or Band.

Good afternoon! After a briefing today with the National Weather Service and Bossier Parish emergency agencies, Bossier Schools will be open Thursday, January 9. However, the YEP program will be canceled and all extracurricular and after-school activities will be postponed until a later time.
We will continue to carefully monitor the forecast and provide an update at 4 p.m. Thursday regarding school operations on Friday.

GRADUATING SENIOR 4-H HONOR CORD APPLICATION
If you are a graduating senior and have been a 4-H member for three of your four high school years, you may be eligible to apply to receive a 4-H Honor Cord. Please contact the 4-H Office at 965-2326 and provide your e-mail address so that the application link can be e-mailed to you.
***Applications are due, online, by February 14th, so don’t wait!!

🎓Mid Term Grads Cap & Gown Pickup
Midterm graduates can pick up their caps/gowns from Ms.Abernathy in the counseling office this week anytime between 8-2.

✏️ How do I check my schedule?
Check in OnCourse before you leave home.
You can also find your grade level in the commons area (outside of the library) and report to the homeroom listed by your name.
Once you get to 1st block, your teacher can help you look up your schedule.
✏️ Where/When do students report in the morning?
From 7:05-7:20 students will wait outside (on good weather days) unless they eat breakfast. On inclement weather days students report to the main gym.
✏️ Where do I go if i don’t have a 1st block?
The Library
✏️ Where do BPSTIL morning students go?
Drivers- go directly to BPSTIL
Bus riders- eat breakfast & remain in cafeteria for a brief meeting with Dr. Neill, then load the bus.
✏️ Where do BPSTIL afternoon students go?
Drivers & bus riders- eat on 1st lunch and remain in the cafeteria for a brief meeting with Dr. Neill, then load the bus.
✏️ How do I request a schedule change?
Go to the BHS website & click “counselor request form”
✏️ What lunch shift am I on?
3rd block will determine what lunch shift you are on. Every student will report to their 3rd block on the first day and their teacher will then know what lunch shift they are on.
✏️ Where do I go for community involvement?
All Community Involvement students need to report to the library during your Community Involvement block.
✏️ Reasons for schedule change:
⭕️ Student needs another course as a prerequisite.
⭕️ Student has had course before & previously passed it.
⭕️ Student has failed course & needs to retake.
⭕️ Student has same course listed on schedule twice.
⭕️ Student doesn’t have enough courses scheduled for the year.

🏈 BHS Welcomes New Head Football Coach🏈
Please help us welcome the newest member of our Tiger family, Coach Stephen Dennis. Coach Dennis is a product of Bossier Schools and comes to us with head coaching experience at Huntington High School. He has a passion for football and positively impacting the lives of student-athletes. Coach Dennis brings experience and enthusiasm to our program and we are eager to welcome him to our campus in January.

🎉 Congratulations to BHS teacher, Kelly Birdsong
We are excited to announce that Mrs. Birdsong is a recipient of the Sydney Biedenharn Educators Endowment Grant! She was recognized Wednesday afternoon at a special reception for her outstanding contributions to education.
With this grant, she will be able to purchase a laser cutter and supplies that will be used for projects in her career and technology class.
